Timber, livestock and crops have been the focus on this Polk County family farm since it's purchase. While it has evolved over the years, the dedication to the land has not waivered. Portions have been managed and lived on by family since 1911.
Today, the fourth generation is focusing on pasture management for the purebred Black Angus cow-calf operation, timber management of the forests, as well as water resource management and fire prevention in response to the changes we've all seen in our climate and ground level waters.
While our herd is relatively small, we focus on those traits most important to us, i.e., easy calving, fast growing, strong maternal instincts and as gentle as can be. Our calves are sold for 4-H/FFA projects, replacement heifers, breeding bulls or commercial herds.
